Love's Long Journey (Janette Oke)

Comments By: Beth A

This book tells of the journey West of Willie and Missie LaHaye. Throughout their journey West, they encounter many hardships, such as rain storms, and swollen rivers. When Willie has to go on to the ranch to prepare for the winter and Missie is left in the town of Tetsford Junction, she misses Willie greatly. Upon Willie's unexpected visit, Missie has a surprise for him. I absolutely loved this book. It was my favourite book of the "Love Comes Softly" series.

The best thing about this book was that it was totally believable. Nothing occurred that you wouldn't expect to find in real life at that time period. I also enjoyed the humour that was added through the character of Mrs. Taylorson on occasion. Her "Twelve Rules" for boarders was her best humourous addition. Overall, the whole book was good, and there weren't any parts that were boring; the story drags you in so that you almost think you're really there!

My rating is: - I didn't want it to end!

My new: "The Matchmakers" by Janette Oke
