I really like this book. It is a great book about a group of 4 girls. Tibby, Lena, Briget, and Carmen are all going seperate ways for the summer. The girlsa try on Carmen pants that she finds at the 2nd hand store. They fit all 4 girls! They are also all sorts of different sizes and shapes. They find the pants magic.
The best thing about this book is when Tibby finds Bailey the girl with leukemia.
My rating is: I didn't want it to end!
My new/next book is: - The Second summer of the Sisterhood

New Books for Fall!
Airhead (Meg Cabot)Emerson Watts isn’t your average sixteen-year-old girl. She loves playing video games and hanging out with her best friend Christopher, and has made peace with her less-than-supermodel-esque looks. But when she’s involved in a mysterious accident, she wakes up to find she’s now in the body of...a supermodel. Who was behind this switch? What was the motive? And how can she get Christopher to realize she’s still the same person inside?
Big boned (Meg Cabot)Life is reasonably rosy for plus-size ex-pop star turned Assistant Dormitory Director and sometime sleuth Heather Wells. She still yearns for her hot landlord, Cooper Cartwright, but her relationship with "rebound beau," vigorous vegan math professor Tad Tocco, is more than satisfactory.
Of course every silver lining ultimately has some black cloud attached. And when the latest murdered corpse to clutter up her jurisdiction turns out to be her exceedingly unlovable boss, Heather finds herself on the shortlist of prime suspects.
With fame beckoning her back into show business (as the star of a new kids' show!) it's a really bad time to get wrapped up in another homicide. Plus Tad's been working himself up to ask her a Big Question, which Heather's not sure she has an answer for . . .
Ruby knows that the game is up. For the past few months, she's been on her own in the yellow house, managing somehow, knowing that her mother will probably never return.
That's how she comes to live with Cora, the sister she hasn't seen in ten years, and Cora's husband Jamie, whose down-to-earth demeanor makes it hard for Ruby to believe he founded the most popular networking Web site around. A luxurious house, fancy private school, a new wardrobe, the promise of college and a future-it's a dream come true. So why is Ruby such a reluctant Cinderella, wary and defensive?
Identical (Ellen Hopkins)Kaeleigh and Raeanne are identical down to the dimple. As daughters of a district-court judge father and a politician mother, they are an all-American family -- on the surface. Behind the facade each sister has her own dark secret, and that's where their differences begin.
For Kaeleigh, she's the misplaced focus of Daddy's love, intended for a mother whose presence on the campaign trail means absence at home. All that Raeanne sees is Daddy playing a game of favorites -- and she is losing. If she has to lose, she will do it on her own terms, so she chooses drugs, alcohol, and sex.
Secrets like the ones the twins are harboring are not meant to be kept -- from each other or anyone else. Pretty soon it's obvious that neither sister can handle it alone, and one sister must step up to save the other, but the question is -- who?
Impulse (Ellen Hopkins)Three lives, three different paths to the same destination: Aspen Springs, a psychiatric hospital for those who have attempted the ultimate act -- suicide.
Vanessa is beautiful and smart, but her secrets keep her answering the call of the blade.
Tony, after suffering a painful childhood, can only find peace through pills.
And Conner, outwardly, has the perfect life. But dig a little deeper and find a boy who is in constant battle with his parents, his life, himself.
In one instant each of these young people decided enough was enough. They grabbed the blade, the bottle, the gun -- and tried to end it all. Now they have a second chance, and just maybe, with each other's help, they can find their way to a better life -- but only if they're strong and can fight the demons that brought them here in the first place.

Groosham Grange (Anthony Horowitz)Sent to Groosham Grange as a last resort by his frustrated parents, thirteen-year-old David Eliot quickly discovers that his new boarding school is very peculiar. New pupils are made to sign their names in blood . . . the French teacher cancels classes on days there's a full moon . . . there are chilling secrets hidden in the assistant headmaster's office. What's the meaning of the black rings everyone wears? Where do the other pupils vanish to at night? Suddenly, his biggest problem isn't staying in school-it's getting out alive.

Such a Pretty Girl (Laura Weiss)
Reviewed by Molly
This book was really intense for the most part and addressed some serious issues. It was really good because of its seriousness though. It was about a girl who's father had been in jail but now he's out on parole. They had problems in the past and with him back out all these problems are pulled back up again.
What was the best/worst thing about this book?
The last sentence in the book made me smile like a maniac because it was so cute, but you'd have to read it.
My rating is: I didn't want it to end!

Flowers in the Attic (V.C. Andrews)
reviewed by - Ele
The book starts off a little boring at first and seems like nothing can't go wrong with this perfect family, but in a instant everything did.
Certain parts I wish it went a little more to the point instead of so many secrets, but that makes the book.

New Books for the Summer!
The Library has lots of new books in for the summer!
We will be adding a new book every day in July & August!
We have new titles in these popular series:
Pendragon - It Girl - Gossip Girl - In or Out - House of Night

Secrets of my Hollywood life (Jennifer Calonita)
What if? Your picture was taped inside teenage boys' lockers across America, your closets were bursting with never-worn designer clothing, and the tabloids constantly asked whether you were losing your "good girl" status? It's a glamorous life, but 16-year-old Kaitlin Burke, co-star of one of the hottest shows on TV, is exhausted from the pressures of her fame. So she decides to spend two months undercover as an ordinary high school student. But could it be that real life high school is just as harsh as cutthroat Hollywood??Juicy Hollywood secrets appear throughout. Combining the vicarious star-studded glamour of the New York Times bestselling A-List with the innocence of The Princess Diaries, this is an engrossing look behind the velvet ropes of stardom.
Love, Stargirl (Jerry Spinelli)
LOVE, STARGIRL picks up a year after Stargirl ends and reveals the new life of the beloved character. The novel takes the form of "the world's longest letter," in diary form, going from date to date through a little more than a year's time. In her writing, Stargirl mixes memories of her bittersweet time in Mica, Arizona, with involvements with new people in her life.In Love, Stargirl, we hear the voice of Stargirl herself as she reflects on time, life, Leo, and - of course - love.
Also, we have Stephenie Meyer's new book "The Host"
Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves--Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

The book is a book that can be enjoyable for everyone. It has comedy, mystery, romance, adventure, and it has beauty. It is the best book I've ever read!
The best part of the book is that the characters are ones that you can relate to, and it has unexpected turns!
My rating: I didn't want it to end!

Keeping the Moon (Sarah Dessen)
Reviewed by -- Maggie B.
This book wasn't very captivating - from the start, I found it cheesy and pointless. It wasn't one of Sarah Dessen's better novels.
The book didn't have a deeper meaning - it was what it was: about a girl whose mother ran a weightloss program.
My rating: Waste of paper!

Angela has just found out that her family is moving to El Cerrito, California, and she seriously doesn’t know how she’ll survive without her best friends. Maddie makes some really bad moves with Clive, a pot-smoking hipster who wants to be “friends with benefits.” And Zoe finds herself falling for Doug, the sweet poet who has had a crush on Angela forever—a crush that Angela has come to count on.

Taylor's mother encourages her daughter to explore the park's possibilities on her own. For Taylor, whose life experience has been seriously limited, this means facing the test of meeting new people who work in the park's nature center - and facing it alone. Summer also holds out the possibility of finding her own boyfriend, though Taylor isn't quite sure what that may involve. What she discovers will change her life forever.
Things hoped for (Andrew Clements)
Seventeen-year-old Gwen is preparing to audition for New York City's top music schools when her grandfather mysteriously disappears, leaving Gwen only a phone message telling her not to worry.
But there's nothing more stressful than practicing for her auditions, not knowing where her grandfather is, and being forced to lie about his whereabouts when her insistent great-uncle demands an audience with him.
Then Gwen meets Robert, also in town for music auditions, and the two pair up to brave the city without supervision. As auditions approach and her great-uncle becomes more aggressive, Gwen and Robert make a startling discovery. Suddenly Gwen's hopes are turned upside down, and she and Robert are united in ways neither of them could have foretold. . . .
Code OrangeWalking around New York City was what Mitty Blake did best. He loved the city, and even after 9/11, he always felt safe. Mitty was a carefree guy–he didn’t worry about terrorists or blackouts or grades or anything, which is why he was late getting started on his Advanced Bio report.
Mitty does feel a little pressure to hand something in–if he doesn’t, he’ll be switched out of Advanced Bio, which would be unfortunate since Olivia’s in Advanced Bio. So he considers it good luck when he finds some old medical books in his family’s weekend house that focus on something he could write about. But when he discovers an old envelope with two scabs in one of the books, the report is no longer about the grade–it’s about life and death. His own.
This edge-of-your-seat thriller will leave you breathless.
Poison Poison has always been a willful, contrary girl, prone to being argumentative and stubborn. So when her sister is snatched by the mean-spirited faeries, she seeks out the Phaerie Lord to get her back. But finding him isn't easy, and the quest leads Poison into a murderous world of intrigue, danger, and deadly storytelling. With only her wits and her friends to aid her, Poison must survive the attentions of the Phaerie Lord, rescue her sister, and thwart a plot that's beyond anything she (or the reader) can imagine. . . .

Great new fiction!
Leftovers (Laura Wiess)A devastating novel of desperation and revenge from one of today's most compelling new voices in fiction.
Blair and Ardith are best friends who have committed an unforgivable act in the name of love and justice. But in order to understand what could drive two young women to such extreme measures, first you'll have to understand why. You'll have to listen as they describe parents who are alternately absent and smothering, classmates who mock and shun anyone different, and young men who are allowed to hurt and dominate without consequence. You will have to learn what it's like to be a teenage girl who locks her bedroom door at night, who has been written off by the adults around her as damaged goods. A girl who has no one to trust except the one person she's forbidden to see. You'll have to understand what it's really like to be forgotten and abandoned in America today.
Are you ready?

Me and the blondes (Teresa Toten)“How did your poor husband pass away?” Make it simple, Mama, I tried to bore into her, simple, simple… “His brains exploded.” I heard a gasp. Yours?” “Heart attack.” “Oooo, dat’s good too.” I could’ve killed her.
Sophie Kandinsky has spent the last six years trying to keep her crazy family life secret. The devil is in the details. The first detail is her larger-than-life, eccentric, Bulgarian mother. The slightly larger detail is the fact that her gentle, poet-father has been charged with murder. All Sophie wants is to be adored and invincible, which is really hard once people find out her father’s in prison.
But this time, after yet another move to another new school, and another opportunity to wipe the slate clean, Sophie has devised a plan. On her first day of school, she will locate The Blondes—that clique of perfect, confident girls who are beyond gossip and reproach—and she will make them her friends. Unfortunately, the punk scene isn't exactly Ozzie and Harriett, and Leo has got quite a learning curve ahead of him, as he tries to avoid the sex and drugs the punk scene is riddled with.
Unfortunately, there are a wide variety of unpleasant surprises waiting for Leo, and some rather unpleasant experiences, to boot. But if he can weather the storm, he just may make some worthwhile friends!
How to be a hero on Earth 5 (Rob Payne)Canadian John Fitzgerald is less than thrilled when his eccentric father sends him to England to spend his summer with relatives he's never met. Then on his way over his plane takes a wrong, and quite disturbing, turn over the Atlantic and drops into a parallel universe-Earth 5-where things are not quite the same: days have fifteen hours, distortion waves warp his brain, and a nefarious government agency decides that inter-dimensional visitors must be eliminated at all costs. Talk about your lousy vacation.
But John is no wimp. Together with an unlikely band of fellow non-dimensionals-including Delores the Texan goth, Gus the cane toad-licking Australian, and a truly embarrassing Earth 5 version of his father-he sets off to a remote island that holds the key to their escape home. Like most journeys involving public transportation, this trek will not be easy. Evil scientists, killer cutlery, and nerds with big plans threaten to really ruin John's summer. With time running out, the gang scrambles to save the day, the universe, and perhaps even their vacations...

For unknown to the famed Jedi Master, the successful launch of the mission is secretly being orchestrated by an unlikely ally: the evil Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, who has his own reasons for wanting Outbound Flight to move forward . . . and, ultimately, to fail. Yet Darth Sidious is not the mission’s most dangerous challenge. Once underway, the starship crosses paths at the edge of Unknown Space with the forces of the alien Chiss Ascendancy and the brilliant mastermind best known as “Thrawn.” Even Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, aboard Outbound Flight with his young Padawan student, Anakin Skywalker, cannot help avert disaster. Thus what begins as a peaceful Jedi mission is violently transformed into an all-out war for survival against staggering odds–and the most diabolical of adversaries.

It's a Mall World after all!(Janette Rallison)
It’s too bad they don’t give out diplomas for what you learn at the mall, because I could graduate with honors in that subject. No really. Since I’ve worked there, I’ve become an expert on all things shopping-related.
For example, I can tell you right off who to distrust at the mall:
1) Skinny people who work at Cinnabon. I mean, if they’re not eating the stuff they sell, how good can it be?
2) The salesladies at department store makeup counters. No matter what they tell you, buying all that lip gloss will not make you look like the pouty models in the store posters.
3) And most importantly—my best friend’s boyfriend, Bryant, who showed up at the food court with a mysterious blonde draped on his arm.
Yeah, I saw it, and yeah, I told my best friend all about it.
You would think this would mean trouble for Bryant, but you would basically be wrong. Somehow, the evil boyfriend turned everything around, and now I’m the one who has to prove myself! But I will. Even if Bryant—and more importantly his best friend, Colton—keep trying to stop me.
Keeping the Moon (Sarah Dessen)

We all Fall Down (Eric Walters)A novel from one of the country’s most prolific and popular YA authors, this book, set in New York City on September 11th, shows us how the experiences of that day profoundly changed one teen’s life and relationships.
Today is September 10, 2001, and Will, a grade nine student, is spending the day at his father’s workplace tomorrow. As part of a school assignment, all the students in his class will be going to their parents tomorrow, but Will isn’t excited about it–he’d rather sleep in and do nothing with his friends. His father doesn’t even have an exciting job like his best friend James’s father who is a fireman. Will’s dad works for an international trading company and has to wake up early every morning to commute to his office on the eighty-fifth floor in the south building of the World Trade Center in Manhattan. Will doesn’t see his father very often because of the hours he puts in at the office. He doubts that his dad will bother making time for him tomorrow even when they are supposed to be spending the day together.
In this fast-paced and dramatic new novel by bestselling author Eric Walters, Will discovers a new side of his father during an event that continues to affect the world. As Will’s new teacher says, tomorrow “might be an experience that changes your entire life.”

Now, with his trial date fast approaching, Alonzo intensifies his hunt for Jack's family. One slipup, and Alonzo will find them, making sure no Osborne survives to testify against him. True Talents (David Lubar)Sequel to: Hidden Talents
It’s been over a year since fourteen-year-old Eddie “Trash” Thalmeyer and his friends from Edgeview Alternative School found out about their special hidden talents. Trash can move things with his mind, Torchie is a fire-starter, Cheater reads minds, Lucky finds lost objects, Flinch can predict the future, and Martin can see into people’s souls. Now back home with their families, all the boys want to do is get back to their normal lives, start attending high school, and keep in touch with their friends from Edgeview.
When Trash tests his power in a bank and accidentally steals a fistful of cash, he is kidnapped by the ruthless leader of a shadowy company whose purpose is to gather information about psychic phenomena—and who is willing to do anything to get it…. Torchie, Cheater, Lucky, Flinch, and Martin join forces to rescue their friend using their hidden talents, and discover their true talents in the process.
“An action-packed adventure where things blow up, people die, and Torchie buys an accordion.”

I thought this was an amazing book and I really enjoyed it. It is long, but worth it. I really think they should make a movie about it.
The best thing was the sit-on-the-end-of-your-seat chapter endings and the worst thing was that it ended.
My rating: I didn't want it to end.

This book was good but... there are better books! This book is a bit boring in some chapters.
The chapters between 1 to 8 are boring, but chapters 9 to 16 are good!
Our Rating: Liked some of it.
