We love it!

Best about it? EVERYTHING!
Worst? NOTHING!

Our rating: I didn't want it to end.

The Princess Pawn (Maggie Wood)

Reviewed by - Roxie

I thought this was an amazing book and I really enjoyed it. It is long, but worth it. I really think they should make a movie about it.

The best thing was the sit-on-the-end-of-your-seat chapter endings and the worst thing was that it ended.

My rating: I didn't want it to end.

Johnny Kellock died today (Hadley Dyer)

Reviewed by - Jessica and Stacey

This book was good but... there are better books! This book is a bit boring in some chapters.
The chapters between 1 to 8 are boring, but chapters 9 to 16 are good!

Our Rating: Liked some of it.

Anne Frank: the diary of a young girl (Definitive edition) - by Anne Frank

reviewed by Maggie B.

The definitive edition of this novel is nothing special. Although it contains unpublished material and photographs of Anne's hiding place, I found the fact that it'd been modernized quite irritating. I reccomend that NO ONE use this edition of the novel, and stick to the original, which I found to be fantastic.

My rating: A good read, but could have been better.

More New Books!

The Nature of Jade (Deb Caletti)

Jade DeLuna is too young to die. She knows this, and yet she can't quite believe it, especially when the terrifying thoughts, loss of breath, and dizzy feelings come. Since being diagnosed with Panic Disorder, she's trying her best to stay calm, and visiting the elephants at the nearby zoo seems to help. That's why Jade keeps the live zoo webcam on in her room, and that's where she first sees the boy in the red jacket. A boy who stops to watch the elephants. A boy carrying a baby.

His name is Sebastian, and he is raising his son alone. Jade is drawn into Sebastian's cozy life with his son and his activist grandmother on their Seattle houseboat, and before she knows it, she's in love. With this boy who has lived through harder times than anyone she knows. This boy with a past.

Jade knows the situation is beyond complicated, but she hasn't felt this safe in a long time. She owes it all to Sebastian, her boy with the great heart. Her boy who is hiding a terrible secret. A secret that will force Jade to decide between what is right, and what feels right.

Master storyteller Deb Caletti has once again created characters so real, you will be breathless with anticipation as their riveting story unfolds.

Party Princess (Meg Cabot)

Princesses just want to have fun . . . And Mia does too, despite the fact that the student government over which she presides is suddenly broke. But Grandmère's got a wacky scheme to raise the money, catapult Mia to theatrical fame, and link her romantically with an eligible teen bachelor who's not her boyfriend. No wonder Michael seems to think she's a psycho, or worse: not much fun. Is it possible that Mia, soon-to-be star of the stage, president of the student body, and future ruler of Genovia, doesn't know how to party?

That Summer (Sarah Dessen)

For fifteen-year-old Haven, life is changing too quickly. She's nearly six feet tall, her father is getting remarried, and her sister&150the always perfect Ashley&150is planning a wedding of her own. Haven wishes things could just go back to the way they were. Then an old boyfriend of Ashley's reenters the picture, and through him, Haven sees the past for what it really was, and comes to grips with the future.

The magic of Recluce (L.E. Modesitt, Jr.)

Reviewed by - Edward M.

The Magic of Recluse is the first book in the Saga of Recluse. The Magic of Recluse was not a particularly well written book but was enjoyable anyway. The next two books, however, are essentially the same as the first. They provide some background for the world, outlining the lives of the main figures in history. While the storys told in these three books are reasonably good the three centeral figures are practically the same in all major aspects of their character and personality. This series is an intreguing new take on the age old conflict between good and evil.

These books can be highly repetitive and it is easy to become bored of reading the same thing over again in different words - and sometimes in the same words! Reasonable story, interesting concept. Character developement needs work. Good if you like philosophy but if you are looking for well writen characters or non-stop action, these books will put you to sleep.

My rating is: Enjoyable, but nothing special.

Fast Life (Cashanda Carter)

Reviewed by - Mariah

The book fast life is about a girl name Kyra who lives in Chi-town with her mom, her father was a drug dealer and died when she was 4. Kyra has 2 best friends, and boyfriend who is also a drug dealer. Kyra would be consider popular at her school but things change when she has to move away because her mother is offered a better job.

The best part in this book is when she gets adjusted to the island and she and Justin get closer The worst thing is when Kia was trying to kill Kyra and Justin.

My Rating is: I didn't want it to end!

My new/next book is: - Drama High: Frenies
